NUDGOSA: 75/80 old students donate block of classrooms to alma mater

The 75/80 old students of Nawair-Ud-Deen Grammar School, Obantoko, Abeokuta, NUDGOSA, have donated a block of two classrooms to their alma mater.

The old students who were admitted to the school in 1975 and graduated in 1980 donated the block of classrooms to commemorate their 40 years of their graduation.

The chairman of its planning committee, Mr Damilola Sanni, said the set was to hand over the building to their alma mater in 2020, 40 years after graduation, but could not do so because of COVID-19.

The handing over which also fell on the 2021 Annual General Meeting of the national body had in attendance, Chief R.O. Yusuf, who is the National President of Nawair-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, who was represented by Alhaji Sabur Sina Soderinde, General Secretary Nawair-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria; Chief Niyi Lasaki and the National President of the old students, Hon. Sabur Olayiwola Olawale.

Members of the planning committee present at the occasion include Dr Kazeem Bello, Interim Chairman, 1980 set; Mr Bode Fabule, Secretary General Secretary of the national body of NUDGOSA; Mrs Doyin Jibowo,; Professor Tunde Oke; Alhaji Sirajdeen Olukotun; Mrs Doyin Jibowo; Mrs Monsura Adebare nee Animashaun and Mr. Damilola Sanni as chairman planning committee.

The handing over of the block of classrooms was followed by the launching of the set’s reunion in Abeokuta.

The set also had the election of officers to run the affairs of the organisation for the next two years.

Officers elected are, Mr Bode Fabule, Chairman; Mrs Mosurat Olalekan, Vice Chairman; Mrs Doyin Jibowo, Secretary General; Mrs Monsurat Adebare, Treasurer, and Engr Nurudeen Adeniyi Akanni as financial secretary.

Other officers are Mr Damilola Sanni, Public Relations Officer; Mr Adeoye Adeosun, Social Secretary; Alhaji Sirajden Olukotun, welfare officer, and Dr Kazeem Bello as Ex-officer.
