The Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Ikeja branch, has honoured the chairman of Mapcotec Nigeria Limited, Dr. Segun Osifeso, with the prestigious 2019 Ikeja Engineer Award.
According to the chairman of the Ikeja branch of the NSE, Mrs. Funmi Akingbagbohun, Osifeso was considered worthy of the award in view of his sterling contributions to the Ikeja branch of the society in particular and to engineering profession in general.
She said the choice of Osifeso came after a painstaking consideration.
Akingbagbohun explained that the society instituted the award for individuals and corporate organisations in appreciation of their contributions to nation building.
In his acceptance speech, Osifeso expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the society for the honour, stressing that he considered it a challenge for him to continue to do more.
Osifeso, the Aare Atunluse of Aworiland and the first Air Survey Navigator in Nigeria, is a philanthropist of note.
