Nigerians wait anxiously for emergence of APC presidential flag-bearer

Nigerians are waiting anxiously for the announcement of the flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the 2023 presidential election.

Voting took place overnight with the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as leading contestants.

Others seeking the support of the delegates who gather at the Eagles Square in Abuja for the primary include former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Pastor Tunde Bakare and governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.

Earlier before the commencement of the voting exercise, former Akwa Ibom State governor, Godswill Akpabio; former Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun, and Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, stepped down for Tinubu.

They announced their stepping down while addressing delegates at the convention.

Also, a presidential aspirant, Felix Nicholas, stepped down for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Nicholas who is 40 years old, announced his stepping down while addressing the delegates gathered to determine who emerges the flag-bearer of the party for the 2023 general election.

Upon the completion of the voting, results will be announced and Nigerians are waiting.
