NEMA receives another batch of 158 Nigerians stranded in Libya

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has received another batch of 158 stranded Nigerians from Libya.

The returnees composed of 49 adults female, seven female children and five female infants also have 83 male adults, six male children and eight male infants.

Altogether, there are 61 females and 97 males.

Four of the returnees were brought back with various degrees of health challenges, three of them are female.

One of the ladies had serious burns, two other ladies serious mental health issues and the only young man with fractured leg.

The returnees who arrived aboard Al Buraq Air Boeing 737 – 800 with registration number 5A-DMG at 1715 hours at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State were received on arrival at the tarmac by officials of NEMA; International Organisation for Migration; Nigeria Immigration Service; National Commission for Refugees, Migration and Internally Displaced Persons and NAPTIP.

The Director General of NEMA, Alhaji Mustapha Habib Ahmed who was represented by NEMA Lagos Territorial Office Coordinator, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, assured the returnees that the federal government was not relenting in making the youths have level playing grounds where they could achieve their potentials in whatever fields they might choose.

The director admonished them to shun vices as a country could only thrive in a peaceful and serene atmosphere to enable them contribute their best in the upliftment of the nation.
