The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has continued to lead and coordinate search and recovery efforts following the accident involving NAF ATR-42 aircraft, NAF 931, in Igbokoda, Ondo State on Monday.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
Ejodame said the Chief of the Air Staff, CAS, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, had commended the dedication and professionalism of NAF personnel and the support of sister agencies and stakeholders involved in the operation.
He listed the stakeholders to include the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police Force, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Ondo State Government, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Amotekun Corps, Hi-Tech Construction Company, local authorities, community leaders and volunteers.
According to him, the coordinated efforts reflect strong inter-agency cooperation and collective national service in times of adversity.
He reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to pursuing the recovery operation diligently, safely and in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
He assured the public that appropriate updates would continue to be provided as the operation progressed.
