Winner of Big Brother Naija Season 11, Temitope Chigbue, popularly known as Temi Nkem, on Tuesday received her N90 million cash prize and a brand-new SUV following her victory in the “Show Ya Sef” edition.
She was presented with the N90 million winner’s cheque and the keys to the new SUV at a ceremony featuring the branding of Big Brother Naija, DStv, GOtv and the show’s sponsors.
The prize presentation, which held two days after the 21-year-old was crowned winner, marked the formal handover of the major components of her N160 million grand prize package.
She emerged winner during the grand finale on Sunday, October 4, after polling 25.87 per cent of the final votes.
She defeated Aikou, who finished as first runner-up with 23.68 per cent, while Sheba placed third with 9.80 per cent.
Nkem arrived at the presentation with her mother, while some of her fellow Season 11 housemates were also present to celebrate her achievement.
She expressed appreciation to God, her family, fans and supporters who voted for her throughout the competition.
She disclosed that she planned to invest most of the cash prize and return to school.
“I’m just 21, I need to invest in my future so I’m going to be investing the money and I also need to go back to school,” she said.
Her victory came after 70 days of competition involving 24 housemates, with the season featuring evictions, tasks, Head of House competitions and several twists that shaped the contestants’ journey.
Her N160 million prize package comprises N90 million in cash, a brand-new SUV and other sponsored rewards.
The cash component was reduced from the original N100 million after N10 million was allocated to the Most Influential Player of the Week, MIPOW, prize fund.
Her victory makes her the fifth female winner in Big Brother Naija history, following Mercy Eke, Phyna, Ilebaye and Imisi.
