Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, MOCPED, Noforija, Epe, Lagos State, on Wednesday, held its matriculation for 2020/2021 academic session intakes.
The event was held at the college.
In his speech at the occasion, the Provost, Associate Professor Nosiru Olajide Onibon, explained how the college had been able to make effective use of Information Communication Technology, ICT, to overcome the problem posed by COVID-19.
That was as he even spoke about the ICT unit of the college which he described as state of the art.
Onibon further stated that COVID-19 pandemic opened the eyes of the college to the relevance of ICT, stressing that the lockdown was no hindrance in anyway as the college was able to connect with students online.
He added that the college was even exploring more in the area of ICT in the teaching and learning process.
The provost described the teaching staff of the college as dedicated, competent and qualified.
He said they worked round the clock to meet students need.
Onibon also spoke about the college’s provision of adequate facilities for health needs, well stocked library with up-to-date data technology for academic needs and development in general.
The provost expressed appreciation over the efforts of the efforts of the Lagos State government and the federal government, through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETfund, for their assistance to the institution, particularly in terms of infrastructure and other facilities.
He enjoined fresh students to be focused on their academic activities, while he also warned them to avoid distractions which might come in form of cultism, examination malpractices, drug addiction and others fraudulent practices.
MOCPED is a Lagos State government established institution with the main aim of training teachers for the basic and lower secondary schools with pride in excellence, dedication, discipline and quality training.
