MOCPED: Delphonso elected Academic Board Representative

Dr. Bamidele Tokunbo Delphonso has been elected unopposed as the Academic Board Representative on the Governing Council of Michael Otedola College of Education, MOCPED.

The election which was prior to the expiration of the tenure of the former representative, Mr Stephen Olufemi Idowu, took place at the 113th Academic Board meeting held on Friday, 26 March, 2021 at the Lecture Theatre 2 of the college.

Delphonso, the newly elected Academic Board Representative on Governing Council is a Chief Lecturer, two time Dean, School of Sciences; former Chairman, Committee of Deans and Directors, and Chairman , Academic Planning Committee.

According to Dr Morufudeen Adeniyi Shittu, Chief Lecturer and Dean, Students Affairs, people were not interested in contesting against Delphonso based on his previous positions and experience.

He expressed optimism that Delphonso would deliver.

Dr Vivian Adeyemi, a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Guidance and Counseling said that the new representative must be objective and diplomatic because he was a link between staff and management.

According to Adeyemi, the new representative needed to work with lot of intelligence because he is going to be mediating between two sides.

She advised him to put people first before his own personal desire.

Delphonso, in his acceptance speech, said that his past experience as a Chief Lecturer, and former Dean who had witnessed four Provosts and four Governing Council had got enough experience to represent Academic Board.

He said he would put welfare as his key word and due of every members of staff will be given without any compromise as he was ready to put people before his personal desire.
