The Cultural and Creative Arts Department of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, MOCPED, has conducted induction for their new students.

Theatre Arts induction is annually performed in the Departments of Theatre Arts/ Performing Arts/ Creative Arts/ Dramatic Arts and other related departments.

It is a dramatic rite made up of several creative diets as they publicly take oath and pledge their loyalty to the profession.

The students are led by the chief priest (a theatre art veteran with a track record) who pronounces blessings on them and sanctify them eligible to be in the flock and practice of the profession.

According to Taiwo Ibikunle the chief priest of the year 2020 induction, it was a process of calling the new students into the CCA departments just like calling lawyers to the bar.

Taiwo Ibikunle likened Theatre Arts to oracle of gods who prayed and made peace.

Ibikunle said the activities were done as they did foretell what would happen in future through their dramatic messages on radio and television.

In his message to the new inductees, Ibikunle admonished them to yearn for knowledge and be ready to go all way out to seek knowledge no matter how it would cost them.

Seeking knowledge, he said, was paramount to their profession.

Ibikunle also encouraged them to be prayerful as there might be a lot of enemies who might be against their success.

The lecturer in charge of the course, Mr Jamal Caleb Apena, on behalf of the department expressed sincere gratitude to the college management led by Associate Professor Nosiru Olajide Onibon for the unflinching support given to the department for success of the induction 2020.
