Minister resigns appointment, becomes new emir

The Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Jibrin, has resigned his appointment.

Reason:  He is the new Emir of Nasarawa Town in Nasarawa local government area of Nasarawa State.

Jibrin was selected by the Nasarawa Emirate Council.

His resignation was announced on Wednesday during the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

A valedictory session was held for the new emir.

Jibrin succeeded Amina Mohammed after she was appointed Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations in 2017.
