The family of the late journalist and columnist, Mr. Michael Awe, popularly known as Micheal West, has formally announced his transition.
The announcement is contained in a statement signed by Israel Ayo Awe for the family.
The family said Awe was involved in a road accident and breathed his last at Ogun State Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
Born on September 10, 1963 in Akure, Ondo State, Awe is survived by an aged mother, children and siblings.

Transition: Mr. Michael Olusesan Awe
It is with great sadness but total submission to the will of God that the entire AWE Family of Akure, Akure South Local Government Area Ondo State announces the passing away of our son, brother, and father Michael Olusesan Awe (a k a Michael West).
He was born on the 10th September, 1963 in Akure, Ondo state and died on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
Mike, as he was fondly called by friends and admirers, was involved in a ghastly motor accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
He breathed his last at the Ogun State Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.
Mike is survived by an aged mother, children and siblings.
Burial arrangements will be announced later.
