Mega platform: NCFront sets up political merger committee

The National Consultative Front, NC Front, has set up a political merger committee to facilitate the fusion of various platforms, allies and stakeholders that share the agenda of rescuing and saving Nigeria from the avoidable misery.

The announcement was made on Sunday by the Head, Public Affairs Bureau, NCFront, Dr Tanko Yunusa in a statement he issued.

The 22 member merger committee, he said, was a product of inclusive nominations from various stakeholders and allies in the NCFront.

The committee was said to have been charged with a clear mandate to help the NCFront political coalition negotiate and seal the formation of a credible alternative ideologically driven mega political movement for all citizens of conscience and ideological groups.

The statement reads in part: “NCFront, Leaders of Conscience, fully aware of the ongoing national constitutional process in the country anchored by the Olisa Agbakoba led People’s Constitution Drafting Committee and the overwhelming desire of Nigerians to find a formidable peoples and service oriented alternative for the disastrous rulership of APC and the PDP in Nigeria have, decided to create a new mega political platform to produce the next political leadership and form the next government in Nigeria.

“Members of the esteemed merger committee to be inaugurated on at 1pm on Tuesday, 9th March, 2021 are as follows: Rt Hon Ghali Umar Na’aba  – Chairman, Chief Raph Okey Nwosu – Vice Chair, Dr Olu Agunloye – Secretary, Engr Yusuf Yabagi Sani, Dr Osagie Obayuwana, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, Arch Ezekiel Nya Etok, High Chief Peter Ameh, Dr Tanko Yunusa, Senator Zainab A. Kure, Rt Hon Jumoke Akindele, Comrade Issa Aremu, Chief Precious Elekima, Senator Folashade Grace Bent, Dr Aisha Salihu Lemu, Alhaji Hamisu Santuraki, Comrade Mark Adebayo, Mallam Nasser Kura, Comrade Seni Ajayi, Barr Mrs Georgina Dakpokpo, Hon Kassim Balarabe Musa, Hadjia Kadijat Abdullahi.

“The committee has, however, been given the discretionary power to  co-opt any other stakeholders, who may be relevant and useful to the successful formation of the new political movement, scheduled for nationwide launching by the end June 2021.

“The Manifesto, Constitution, Nomenclature, Logo, Motto, Slogan and interim leadership structures of the new political movement, which is expected to produce the next political leadership for the country are to be discussed and agreed by the historic committee. Eminent persons to be consulted by the committee for technical advice are selected former INEC chairpersons, including Prof Attahiru Jega, Selected Presidential Candidates, such as Prof Pat Utomi, Dr Obadiah Mailafia, Prof Kingsley Moghalu, Dr Obby Ezekwesiili, Mr Gbenga Olawepo Hashim, others are Selected Leaders of the Youths, especially of the #EndSars Movement.”
