MAPOLY reopens September 21, explains new school schedule

Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, will reopen for in-person academic activities on Monday, September 21, 2020.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Head, Public Relations and Protocol, Mr. Yemi Ajibola, in a statement made available to FrontPage.

Ajibola said the reopening of the school was approved by the Academic Board of MAPOLY in compliance with the directive issued by Ogun State government.

He also said Matriculation and Oath-Taking ceremony would hold on Wednesday, 30th September, 2020 for all fresh students for the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes for the 2019/2020 academic session.

It would be recalled that the school like others across the country was shut as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the first semester examination, 2019/2020 academic session, all National Diploma students, Full-time and Part-time, are expected to begin their course revision, practical, workshop and studio works from Monday, September 21, to Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon (Mondays to Saturday).

All Higher National Diploma students, Full-time and Part-time, are expected to feature as above from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday to Saturday).

No, National Diploma student, it was said, should be available on the school premises by 1 p.m.

Ajibola said similarly, all Returning National Diploma and Higher National Diploma students, Full-time and Part-time, (i.e terminal classes) would commence their first semester examination for the 2019/2020 academic session from Monday, 5th – 17th October, 2020 while all Fresh National Diploma and Higher National Diploma students, Full-time and Part-time would start from Monday, 19th – 31st October, 2020.

Any student who is yet to complete his/her registration, the schools said, had been enjoined to do so before the commencement of the examination, as no students would be allowed into the examination halls without being fully registered.

Students, the school said, were advised to acquaint themselves with the revised 2019/2020 academic calendar as the second semester for the 2019/2020 academic session begins on Monday, November 2, 2020.
