The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has commended the National Executive Council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Alumni Association for its developmental agenda in support of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.
She gave the commendation when the association, led by its national president, Pastor Ezekiel Obasanya, paid her a courtesy visit.
According to a statement issued by the national secretary of the association, Mr. Alex Ogunsolu, the Ogun State deputy governor noted that Moshood Abiola Polytechnic was uppermost in the heart of the current administration of the state and had always put issues of the institution on priority list.
She encouraged the association to engage more on support to the students in the areas of mentoring, endowments, projects and other forms of assistance.
Earlier in his speech, Obasanya appreciated the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led government for the immediate resolution upon assumption of office of the crisis that had engulfed the institution consequent upon the upgrading of the institution to MAUSTECH by the previous administration.
He went further to highlight the programmes of the association which he said included free eye and heart check for students, staff and host communities, sponsorship of indigent students as well as facilitating Industrial Attachment programmes for current students.
The national president of the alumni made some requests on the government which include rehabilitation of access road to the institution, appointment of substantive Rector and constitution of the governing council.
