Inauguration of the Executive Committee

The Association of Mass Communication Students, AMACOS, 1991 set of Ogun State Polytechnic (now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic), Abeokuta, has inaugurated its executive committee with Mr. Feyi Olukoya as the president.

The inauguration followed the election of members of the new executive in Abeokuta on Saturday during the 30th anniversary of the association.

Olukoya is the Managing Director of Media Stamp.

Other executive members of the association are:

Mr. Kehinde Bankole – Secretary

Mr. Israel Adekitan – Asst. General Secretary

Mrs. Doyin Olaitan – Treasurer

Mrs. Dupe Sanusi – Financial Secretary

Mrs. Yemisi Olabanji – Welfare Officer

Mrs. Eniola Akirijan – Social Secretary

Mr. Seyi Akintoye – Public Relations Officer

Mr. Gbenga Omilola – Legal Adviser

Speaking during the inauguration, Mr. Olukoya thanked all members of the association at home and abroad for the love that had been allowed to reign, urging them to maintain the spirit.

He thanked them for the trust reposed in him, vowing that he would not let them down.

He however sought the full cooperation of the members, stressing that the task ahead was not for any individual or the executive committee alone.

Olukoya said the welfare of members of the association was the most important thing and that he would do everything possible, with the support of all, to achieve the goal.

During the two-day event to celebrate the association’s 30th anniversary its members, on Friday, July 30, 2021, visited their alma mater where they paid a courtesy call on the Acting Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji.

They also visited the Mass Communication Department where they donated public address systems to the four classes.

It was the second time the AMACOS 91 set donated to the department.

Five years ago, the alumni donated books worth N1.2 million to the department.

On Saturday, the second day of the event, members of the association were at Olumo Rock.

Later in the day, they held a meeting and conducted an election which saw the emergence of the new executive members.

A dinner was later held with some of their lecturers present and honoured.

Present at the occasion were Professor Lai Oso, Mr. Taiwo Otunba, Professor Bayo Oloyede and Mr. Bidemi Osunbiyi.

The Olota of Ota, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, who is also an alumnus, was at the occasion.

A well-attended occasion, members of the association shared their school experiences and thanked God for the lives of each and everyone.
