One Isiaka Ayobami has been arrested by the police for killing a one year old girl, Nana Aishat Isiaka.
Ayobami who is resident at 2 Ayo Ijaiye Stree, Isheri, was reported to have, on Saturday, forcefully seized the girl from the mother and smashed her on the ground.
The baby’s head was said to have shattered immediately and she died on the spot.
The spokesman of the Lagos Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana, made the disclosure in a statement he issued on Sunday.
The statement reads in part: “On 26/10/19 at about 1850 hours, one Alhaji Garuba Isiaka ‘m’ of No 7 Ayo Ijaiye Street reported at Police Station that, on the same date at about 1800hrs, while at Berger he received a phone call from his younger brother Alhaji Mohammad Isiaka ‘m’ that one Isiaka Ayobami ‘m’ of No 2 Ayo Ijaiye Street Isheri forcefully seized his daughter named Nana Aishat Isiaka ‘f’ 1 year old from the mother and hit her on the ground.
“The Baby’s head was shattered and she died on the spot.
“The suspect was almost lynched by angry mobs from the area, if not for the timely intervention of the Police. He will be charged to Court for murder.”
