The Coordinator of Sanwo-Olu Vanguard, ICG, Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Hon. Dipo Okeyomi, has described the late Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat as a politician whose level of patriotism was very high.
Oba Hamzat who is the father of the Deputy Governor-Elect of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, died on Sunday and is scheduled to be buried on Monday.
He was the traditional ruler of Afowowa Kingdom in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Okeyomi said the Oba would be sorely missed.
He described him as a statesman and a democrat full of wisdom, counsel, honesty, and transparency.
He said he would be remembered for his tolerance and politics without bitterness.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Hamzat, and most especially, our Deputy Governor-Elect, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
