Lagos State government has ordered the closure of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos.
This is as it vowed to get to the root of the cause(s) of the death of a student of the school, Sylvester Oromoni Jnr.
The closure is pending the outcome of an investigation into the death.
The closure was announced on Friday in a statement by the Assistant Director, Public Affairs, Ministry of Education, Mr. Ganiu Lawal.
Lawal said the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, announced the closure after a meeting with the school management and staff.
He said the commissioner called for calm, saying no effort would be spared in getting to the root of the incident.
The 12 years old boy was said to have died following alleged attack by some boys because he refused to join a cult.
The school was said to have however denied the claim, saying that he merely sustained injuries while playing football with his mates.
