Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Sunday congratulated Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, in the Kwara State governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Abdulrasaq winner, having polled 331,546.
His Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, counterpart, Razak Atunwa, polled 114,754.
In the message on his Twitter handle, Saraki congratulated all those who emerged winners at the different levels.
He particularly congratulated Abdulrasaq.
He also thanked the people of Kwara and supporters of his party, PDP.
The tweet reads: “I thank all Kwarans, particularly PDP supporters, who worked for the party in the just concluded elections. My congratulations go to Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq and all those who emerged at all levels. I wish them all the best.”
