Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has emerged the winner of the primary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the governorship election.
The primary was conducted on Thursday at Lokoja, Kogi State.
The governorship election is billed to hold on November 16, 2019.
Yahaya Bello polled 3,369 votes to defeat eight other contestants for the party’s ticket.
According to the chairman of the electoral panel, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State, Mr Babatunde Irukera was second.
He polled 109 votes.
Others are: Hassan Bewa, 44 votes; Mr Yahaya Audu, 10 votes; Mr Sani Abdulahi, seven votes and Mr Abubakar Bashir, three votes.
Mrs Blessing Ekele, Mrs Hadiza Ibrahim, Mr Yakubu Mohammed and Mr Danlami Mohammed did not record any vote.
54 votes were declared invalid.
