Revolution Now convener, Omoyele Sowore, has finally regained his freedom from the detention of the Department of State Services, DSS.

He was released Thursday night.

His release was effected barely a few hours after the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja gave DSS 24 hours within which to release him.

Omoyele Sowore who has spent over three months in custody was arrested in August over a protest against the Federal Government.

He was charged to court for alleged treasonable felony among other crimes.

Although the court had ordered his release, having met the bail conditions, DSS refused to set him free several weeks after.

Giving the order for his release on Thursday, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu also awarded a N100,000 fine against the DSS.

The fine was for the delay to serve the defence counsel with the additional proof of evidence in the ongoing trial of Sowore and Olawale Bakare.
