The Islamic Welfare Foundation, IWF, in collaboration with the University of Abuja is holding its seventh edition of Conference on Islam in Nigeria, COIN, from December 9 to 12.
In a statement by Mallam Aliu Badmus and Prof. Wahab Egbewole, chairman and secretary of COIN 2019 respectively said the formal opening will hold on December 10 from 10 a.m. at University of Abuja.
The statement adds that the theme of the conference is “Law and Religious Conflicts in Nigeria” with 10 other sub-themes.
The duo of Prof. Muhammad Tabiu of Faculty of Law, Bayero University, Kano and Professor Justus Sokefun, Deputy Vice Chancellor, (Administration), NOUN, will deliver the 2019 COIN keynote addresses.
The Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, Prof. Abdur- Rasheed Na’Allah is slated to be the chairman of the occasion while Dr. Abdulazeez Shittu, Dept. Of Islamic Studies, University of Abuja and Dr. Azizat Amoloye- Adebayo of Dept. Of Islamic Law, University of Ilorin are the Lead paper presenters.
Already, the organisers who had called for papers from experts, said papers had been received from various stakeholders on the theme and sub-themes of the 2019 conference.
It would be recalled that this is the 7th edition of the conference with the maiden one solely hosted by IWF while the rest were in collaboration with institutions such as UNILORIN, Fountain University, BUK, UI and the 6th edition was in collaboration with Crescent University.
The statement added that the 4th Volume of the Journal of Islam in Nigeria would also be presented at the 7th edition in Abuja.
