The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has declared three days of prayer and fasting to save Nigeria and Christians in particular from being consumed by the current state of insecurity.

The Christian group said the prayer would be directed at saving Nigeria from “insurgents, Islamic terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and ritualists.”

The fasting and prayer is from January 31 to February 2, 2020.

It directed every local church to observe the fasting and prayer.

It also suggested that local churches should meet in the evening of each day of fasting to pray together.

It disclosed that on Sunday, February 2, there would be prayer walk around each church’s locality pronouncing Jesus and the Prince of Peace as Lord.

The body said Christians would carry placards saying ‘No’ to further killings and demand that the federal and state governments should rise up to their responsibility of securing the lives and property of their citizens.

“We must save our nation from evil minded people and destruction,” CAN said in the statement issued by its president, Dr. Samson Ayokunle.
