The Institute for Media and Society, on Wednesday, held a stakeholders meeting and presentation of publications under the support to Media (Component 4A) of the European Union Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria (EU-SDGN) project.
Led by its Executive Director, Dr. Akin Akingbulu, the institute presented eight different publications with focus on the coverage of 2019 general election in Nigeria.
The publications include Conducting Media Audience Research; Filling Critical Gaps in Broadcasting Legislation in Nigeria; Broadcast Media Coverage of 2019 Nigeria General Election (2018); Broadcast Media Coverage of 2019 Nigeria General Election (2019) and Broadcast Media Coverage of 2019 Nigeria General Election (Final Report).
Participants at the event are journalists from broadcast, print, online media and other relevant stakeholders, including members of the media industry groups, academia and civil society organisations.
Some of the dignitaries, among others, at the occasion were Professor Ayobami Ojebode, Associate Professor Jide Jimoh of the Lagos State University, LASU, and the Director, International Press Centre, Mr. Lanre Arogundade.
