Imo: Public water supply restored in Owerri

Public water supply has been restored in parts of Owerri metropolis by the Imo State Water and Sewage Corporation.

The areas affected are part of Aladinma and Ikenegbu in Owerri as well as Areas M, N, and C of World Bank, New Owerri.

The announcement was made by Oguwike Nwachuku, Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodinma.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Nwachuku said the government assured the people of the state that it was working round the clock to ensure that public water supply was restored in all parts of Owerri metropolis in the shortest possible time.

“Governor Hope Uzodinma on resumption of office was worried that there was scarcity of water in Owerri metropolis and has promised to ensure that the situation is rectified as quickly as possible.

“To the governor, provision of safe potable water is a major mantra of his administration and he regrets inconveniences during the period of interruption of water supply,” the statement reads in part.
