I’m here to lay good foundation for welfare of pensioners –Titilola-Sodo

The pioneer Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Local Government Staff Pensions Board, Comrade Bayo Titilola-Sodo, has said his appointment to the office is a challenge on how best to lay good foundation for the welfare of pensioners in the state.

He made the disclosure at a reception organised for him on his appointment as Permanent Secretary by a socio-political group, Liberty Connection, in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Liberty Connection describes itself as a group of friends striving towards achieving good governance, seeking dividends of democracy for citizenry, betterment and growth of the state and the country as a whole.

Titilola-Sodo said the appointment was a call to duty by Governor Seyi Makinde, who he said found him worthy of fashioning out strategies and policies that would enhance the welfare of the workers and pensioners in the state.

Hs words: “As a labour leader, who has been clamouring for the betterment of civil servants as well as pensioners in the state, the governor in his wisdom appointed me the pioneer Permanent Secretary in the Board to come and fashion out policies that will enhance the lots of workers and pensioners.

“I see the appointment as a challenge, and I will not let everyone down, and I pledge to do my best and lay good foundation in the Board so that people coming behind me will be complementing my efforts.”

Titilola-Sodo, was until his new appointment, the Head of Local Government Administration, HLGA, in Atiba local government area, as well the immediate past President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, and Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, in Oyo State.

The Protem Chairman of Liberty Connection, Comrade Olu Omotosho, in his remarks, while admonishing the new Permanent Secretary, affirmed that Titilola-Sodo had made lot of sacrifices as a labour leader, which earned him the appointment of Permanent Secretary.

He described Titilola-Sodo as a trail blazer, man of his words with great landmark, noting that he managed lots of crises as a labour leader.

his He maintained that uncommon trait earned him the appointment and pledged their support for him in term of counselling and advice to achieve the best in the current office.
