Senator Osinakachukwu Ideozu representing Rivers West in the National Assembly has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
With his defection, APC has taken over the three senatorial districts in Rivers State.
Ideozu joined Senator Andrew Uchendu representingRivers East and Magnus Abe representing Rivers South East.
His defection was announced on Wednesday at plenary by the Senate Majority Leader, Ahmed Lawan.
Said he: “I want to congratulate my brother representing Rivers West, Osinachukwu Ideozu for moving from PDP to APC. Congratulations my brother.”
The latest development marks the continuation of the wind of defection that has been blowing in the National Assembly since August.
About 14 senators and 37 House of Representatives members dumped the APC at the time.
Majority of them moved to PDP.
