The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has expressed hope that the general election would end up free and fair.
He expressed the hope just as he said he looked forward to a smooth transition.
Atiku spoke with journalists, shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit at Ajiya, Yola North local government area of Adamawa State.
“I am excited there is a large turnout of voters and I am hoping that this election will end free and fair,” he said.
Describing himself as a democrat, he gave the impression that he would concede victory if defeated in the election.
He however said he looked “forward to a successful transition.”
