Two armed robbery suspects have been arrested by men of Ogun State Police command for robbing one Ajose Bilikisu, a Point of Sales, POS, operator at gun point.

The two suspects, 25 years old Balogun Haruna (a.k.a. Fitila) and Imole Noah, were arrested on Saturday.

The duo were arrested following a distress call received by policemen attached to Idanyin divisional headquarters, that four armed men were attacking a POS operator at Ketu Adiowe community.

The caller said the hoodlums had dispossessed the woman of her bag containing the sum of N60,000, two Androids phones and a bunch of keys.

Upon the distress call, according to the spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Divisional Police Officer, Idanyin division, CSP Olayinka Kuye, quickly led his patrol team to the area, where the duo of hoodlums were arrested with the assistance of members of the community.

Two other suspects escaped with their arms.

On interrogation, Balogun Haruna who was said to have claimed to be a member of Eye confraternity, confessed to the commission of the crime, while the victim had also identified him and his partner as those who robbed her.

An expended cartridge was recovered from them.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation

He also directed that the escaped members of the gang be hunted for and brought to book, as soon as possible.
