Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, on Tuesday revealed the partisan role played against him by the former President of the United States, Barrack Obama, ahead of the 2015 Nigeria’s general election which saw him voted out of office.

The revelation was made in his book, “My Transition Hours” which was launched on Tuesday in Abuja.

Obama was American president from 2009 to 2017.

He said Obama, in a manner that was condescending, expressed bias by suggesting to Nigerians how to vote in the 2015 election.

He said the direction was given in a video which he released at the time, asking Nigerians to open a “new chapter.”

“On March 23, 2015, President Obama himself took the unusual step of releasing a video message directly to Nigerians all but telling them how to vote,” the book reads in part.

“In that video, Obama urged Nigerians to open the ‘next chapter’ by their votes. Those who understood subliminal language deciphered that he was prodding the electorate to vote for the opposition to form a new government,” the book reads further.

It would be recalled that Jonathan lost his bid to continue in office in the 2015 general election.

His loss which saw the end of the 16 years rule of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, brought in General Muhammadu Buhari as the new president.

Buhari contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Meanwhile, dignitaries from within and outside the country graced the launching of Jonathan’s book.

The book was launched on the occasion of his 61 birthday in Abuja.

Present at the occasion were former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar; former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo;  National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, and presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Present too were former Vice President, Namadi Sambo; Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; former Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio; former Senate President, David Mark, and National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus.

The occasion was also graced by former presidents of Ghana, Benin and Sierra Leone.

President Muhammadu Buhari was represented at the occasion by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

Speaking at the occasion, Abdulasalmi Abubakar, praised Jonathan for the peaceful transition in 2015.

He said but for the fact that he conceded defeat, there would have been war in Nigeria.

“We cannot thank you enough for the peace we are having in the country today; for the peaceful transition we had when you freely and voluntarily conceded defeat…

“By your decision, you have shown that you love your country more than you love power,” Abubakar said.
