How insider who leaked Buhari’s broadcast speech was caught –Adesina

The insider at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, who leaked the wrong copy of the Monday speech of President Muhammadu Buhari to the media before broadcast at 8.00 p.m. has been identified.

Discovered before the end of the day of the broadcast, he had been made to answer for his action.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, made this known in a piece – Enemy of the State – in his column, From the Inside.

Adesina said the person was identified through the use of technology as computer evidences narrowed down the suspect.

Said he: “But he (the suspect) forgot that in these days of technology, almost everything leaves a trail. Before the end of that evening, computer evidences had narrowed down the suspect, and he was already answering for his evil action.”

The president’s spokesman who described the person behind the leak as an enemy of the state but within.

He concluded that his intention was evil.

“If that person had got the final, authentic copy, that is the same way he would have leaked it. To what end, to what purpose? Sinister. Sneaky. Hateful,” said Adesina.

He added: “Who would do such a thing, except an Enemy of the State, someone who wants to ridicule the government, cause utmost confusion in the polity, and smirk his lips in malevolent pleasure, as the government, and possibly the media handlers of the President were flagellated, and taken to the cleaners.”

It would be recalled that hours before the broadcast, a copy of the speech believed to be the original had been trending, especially in the social media.

The development ignited the fire of controversy with many blaming the media team of the president on the one hand and the media on the other.
