The Collation Officer for Gboko local government area of Benue State, Comfort Dooshima, was shot Saturday night by some unidentified persons.
The gunmen were said to have fired the vehicle conveying Dooshima to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) head office in Markurdi when she was hit in the leg by the bullet.
She was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Dooshima is a lecturer at the University of Agriculture, Benue.
