How armed men attacked Governor Makinde’s hotel in Lokoja

Some armed masked men in police uniform on Friday stormed Suitorial Hotel, Lokoja, where Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State lodged.

They scaled the fence of the hotel and attempted to enter the rooms.

Makinde is the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Kogi State Campaign Council.

He is in Kogi in his capacity as the chairman of the council.

According to a report from Oyo government press, eyewitnesses confirmed that the hooded security operatives arrived the hotel located along Stadium Road, Lokoja, where the governor and some members of the PDP Campaign Council were lodged at about 12.50 pm, on Friday.

They armed men shot sporadically and attempted to break into the hotel rooms.

A melee was set off as the security operatives attached to the Governor Makinde were said to have resisted the invaders.

Within a short while, some residents nearby were said to have also gathered to resist the invading gunmen.
