A “hit and run” vehicle, on Friday, killed a middle-aged man (name unknown), near Owode-Ijako bus-stop, on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
Mrs Temitope Oseni, the Owode-Ijako Unit Commander, Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, confirmed the incident in Ota, Ogun State.
Oseni explained that the incident which occurred around Owode slope before the bus-stop, happened in the early hour of the day.
“The unknown man was knocked down by suspected ‘hit and run’ vehicle due to excessive speeding of the driver.
“The lifeless body of the victim was still at the scene of the incident, but we have contacted the authority in charge for evacuation from the road,” she said.
The unit commander warned motorists against speeding and urged them to always slow down while approaching points of crossing.
She advised people to be careful while crossing the roads.
