Gunmen attack NUJ chair in Nasarawa, abduct wife, three other women

The Chairman of Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Nasarawa State, Suleiman Abubakar, was attacked by gunmen on Wednesday.

His wife Yahanasu Abubakar and three other woman were abducted.

Suleiman said they were travelling in a union bus from Keffi where his wife went to register at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp when they were attacked.

The incident, according to him, occurred at about 7 p.m. along Gudi-Garaku Road in Akwanga local government area of the state.

He said the gunmen swooped on them and took his wife and three other women away at the scene when their car which was shot ran into a ditch.

The Police, according to the state command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Samaila Usman, had begun moves to rescue the abducted women.
