Islamic scholars and governors of Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Ondo and Ekiti states are expected to to grace the international conference on the biography of Prophet Muhammad jointly organised by the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria, MUSWEN, and Turkish Educational and Cultural Promotion Company, NUSRET.
The conference will hold today, Wednesday, at the Conference Hall, University of Ibadan Mosque Complex.
The Chairman, Local Organizing Committee of the conference, Prof. Wole Abbas, who made the disclosure in a statement issued in Ibadan, said the immediate past Executive Secretary of MUSWEN, Prof. Dawud Noibi, would be the chairman of the conference with the theme “Impact of the Exemplary Leadership Style of Prophet Muhammad on Inter-Ethnic and Inter-Religious Harmony.”
Others expected at the programme include foreign nationals, top Muslim academics, heads of tertiary institutions in the South West and Kwara State, leading Imams and scholars as well as royal fathers.
The Executive Secretary of MUSWEN, Prof. Muslih Yahya, will be the keynote speaker while papers will be presented by Prof. Muhib Opeloye, from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; Prof. Murtala Bidmos, from University of Lagos; Dr Muritala Busoeri, from Lagos State University and Dr. Saber AbdelFattah AbdelAziz Meshrfy, from Cairo University, Egypt
Other paper presenters are a popular Muslim activist, Prof. Ishaq Lakin-Akintola of Lagos State University; Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan, Prof. Afis Oladosu; Dr. Khadijat Olaniyan-Shobowale, from Lagos State University, and Dr. Kamil Kemanu from Nile University of Nigeria.
