Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Richard Akinjide, is dead.
He was 88 years old.
Akinjide, who was said to have been sick for about three years was said to have died at his Ibadan residence in the early hours of Tuesday.
Akinjide was Minister of Education during Nigeria’s first republic under the administration of Tafawa Balewa.
He was also the Minister of Justice under the government of Alhaji Shehu Shagari.
Born in 1930, Richard Akinjide attended Oduduwa College, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
He went for further studies in the United Kingdom in 1951 and was called to the English Bar in 1955.
