Again, Balogun Market on Lagos Island, Lagos State has been consumed by fire.
The fire outbreak came barely two months after a similar one in the market.
In November 2019, the market was razed with goods destroyed.

The current fire outbreak at Balogun Market was said to have started at Anambra Plaza, Martins Street, and spread to no fewer than six other buildings.
According to the Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, on Channels Television, said the fire was caused by fuel stored inappropriately in one of the buildings.
Traders, in panic, have been making efforts to salvage their goods and save their lives.
