The federal government has received 162 stranded Nigerians from Libya.
The stranded Nigerians arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Wednesday morning.
The returnees were brought back to the country by the International Organisation for Migration, IOM, through the Voluntary Repatriation Programme for the distressed who had left the country to seek greener pasture in various European countries but could not afford to return when their journey became frustrated.
The International Organisation for Migration, since 2017 has assisted over 22,000 distressed Nigerians back to the country.
The breakdown of returnees that arrived Wednesday morning are 98 adult female, 28 adult males, 19 female children and five male children, nine female infants and three male infants.
Amongst the 162 returnees were five who have various degrees of health related issues.
Agencies on the ground that received the returnees are Port Health Unit of the Federal of Health, National Commission for Resilience, Migration and IDPs, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and the Nigerian Immigration Services.
