The Human Resources Manager of Lafarge Africa Plc, Mr. Ezekiel Obasanya, has emerged the national president of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Alumni Association.
He was elected as the 8th national president on Saturday at the 15th biennial convention of the association held at Ramotu Babalakin Hall, Ojere, the institution’s campus.
A 1991 graduate of Mass Communication, he was until his election the deputy national president of the association for four years.

He is Human Resources Manager with over 26 years experience from two multinational companies – Unilever Nigeria Plc and Lafarge Africa Plc. where he currently works
In his acceptance speech, the new national president, Obasanya, thanked all the delegates that represented members both home and abroad for reposing confidence in him to lead the association for the next four years.
He also applauded the internal mechanism of electing officers in the alumni association as, according to him, it had proven to be robust, transparent and hitch-free.
The system, he said, was such that promoted unity and peace among members.
He promised that the new administration would build on the legacy of the founding fathers and operate an open and transparent administration and focus on three main strategic thrusts.
The thrusts, he said, were:
“1. Rebranding and repositioning of the Alumni Association by creating a team of professional members to handle media publicity of the association and bring to bear effectiveness of the association’s achievement to the internal and external stakeholders.
“2. Building a pipeline of future leaders of the association. This is critical to the association as many strong professionals have been produced by the institution and are lofty members doing excellently well in their various professions and vocations. Stakeholders forum with all sets will be established to properly integrate them into the national alumni.
“3. Continue with the alumni legacy project in the institution.”
Other members of the new executive body who were elected are: Deputy National President, Mrs Taiwo Abbass; National Secretary, Alexandre Ogunsolu; National Treasurer, Asisat Adebayo; National Financial Secretary, Goke Ishola, and Deputy National Secretary, Olumuyiwa Oshifade.
Others are National Publicity/Social Secretary, Olasunkami Sopade; National Financial Secretary, Akinfemi Akinfenwa, Editor in Chief, Tolulope Ojemuyiwa, and four ex-officio.
