There is a Yoruba saying which can be translated to mean if you sell your family members cheap, you won’t be able to buy them at an expensive rate.

We can disagree and fault the recent elections, but we should be careful the image of the country we are projecting to the world.

When we demonise the country without properly isolating the issues of contention, we sell the country cheap to those who already have negative impression about us.

Those who are quick to throw away the baby and the bath water should remember that any policy against the country will also affect them sooner or later.

My counsel: Complain and criticize the outcome of the election if you want, but know when not to demarket the country.

Let me end with another Yoruba proverb.
