I believe strongly that Nigerians have offended the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefele.
If not, how on earth can CBN be asking that the old notes, when it ceases to become legal tender, should be taken to the CBN office at the state capitals?
CBN has just one office in each state and it is located at the state capital. For example, in Ogun State, it will take weeks if not months for CBN office located in Abeokuta to take care of people in Abeokuta alone, let alone other towns and locations in the state, with some being about three hours drive from Abeokuta.
In my course in Banking, I was thought that CBN is the Bankers’s Bank. When has CBN becomes individual’s Bank?
Please who are those behind this imminent conflagration?
The people will even have to download a form from CBN’s portal, fill the form and get a code before taking the form and their old naira notes to CBN’s office at the state capital! So, we assume everyone is internet literate, we assume everyone has access to internet, we assume there is 100 per cent internet coverage in Nigeria?
Someone from Ogun Waterside LG will pass by over 300 commercial banks along the way to go and drop say N50k old naira notes at CBN office in Abeokuta? The same CBN that has openly acknowledged inadequate staffing, which has made it to engage “super agents” for the naira swap policy?
Please who are those behind this imminent conflagration?
