In obvious move to find a lasting solution to the crisis occasioned by the EndSARS protest, President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday met with former Nigerian leaders.
It was a virtual meeting attended by former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; General Yakubu Gowon; Dr. Goodluck Jonathan; Abdulsalami Abuabakar; Ibrahim Babangida and Chief Ernest Shonekan.
It was gathered that physically with the president at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa were Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari and National Security Adviser, retired Maj-Gen. Babagana Monguno.
Present too were the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olanisakin; Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; Director General, Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi and Director General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai.
It would be recalled that the president addressed the nation on Thursday, urging protesters to leave the street and engage the government constructively.
The broadcast was made following the violence across the country following the EndSARS protest believed to have been hijacked by hoodlums who resort to burning and killing.
