The Federal Government has ordered the closure of Nigeria’s borders ahead of the Governorship and House of Assembly election.
The election holds on Saturday.
According to the Minister of Interior Lt.-Gen. (retd) Abdulrahman Dambazau, the closure takes effect form Friday, March 8 in the afternoon, to Sunday, March 10, afternoon.
The order, in a statement issued by the Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Mr. Muhammad Babandede, is to restrict movements across the borders during the period of election.
