Former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, has gone philosophical as he speaks about the outcome of Saturday governorship election which saw his candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu losing.
Ize-Iyamu who contested on the platform of the APC with Oshiomhole known to be his very strong pillar lost to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Obaseki polled 307,955 votes while Ize-Iyamu polled 223,619 votes.
Ize-Iyamu’s loss was considered to be a devastating blow on the political career of Oshiomhole.
But speaking on the outcome of the election, Oshiomhole took consolation in the fact that one cannot expect to be victorious in life all the time.
His words: “In life you win some, and lose some but life goes on.”
It would be recalled that the guber election was a fierce battle between Obaseki and Oshiomhole.
But after he was given the Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Obaseki extended hand of fellowship to Oshiomhole and Ize-Iyamu.
He said: “I am using this opportunity to extend a hand of fellowship to my brother, Osagie Ize-iyamu, and other colleagues in the APC to work with us to move Edo forward.
“On a specific note, I want to use this occasion to call on former national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole that the fight is over, to come and join in building the house where he was part of laying the foundation.
“We have no malice; the only thing we disagreed on is on the approach in moving Edo forward.’’
