The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has announced Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, as the chairman of the campaign council for Edo State governorship election.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State is the deputy chairman.
The announcement of Wike as the chairman was made by the PDP on its Twitter handle on Friday.
The tweets read: “The @OfficialPDPNig NWC has appointed the Governor of Rivers State, H. E. Chief @NyesomWlKE as the Chairman of Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council.
“The deputy chairman is Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri.”
PDP features Governor Godwin Obasaki as its candidate.
Obaseki will be campaigning for a second term in office.
His major opponent is Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, is the chairman of the campaign council of the APC.
In the campaign team among others are Adams Oshiomhole and John Odigie- Oyegun.
The two men were national chairmen of the APC at different times.
