Eight supporters of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly referred to as Sunday Igboho, have been released by the Department of State Services, DSS.

They spent over 60 days in the custody of the DSS since they were arrested on July 1, 2021.

The security operatives stormed the Ibadan residence of Igboho where they were said to have killed two of Igboho’s supporters before arresting the others.

Four of the people arrested are still in the DSS custody.

The released persons were present at a press conference addressed by their lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, on Monday.

Speaking at the press conference, the lawyer insisted that the security agency must account for the two persons said to have been killed when they stormed the residence of Igboho.

It would be recalled that DSS accused Igboho of stock-piling arms, hence the attack.

The operatives stormed Igboho’s residence and arrested 12 persons who were taken to Abuja and detained.

Their detention was challenged in court and the judge of a Federal High Court in Abuja granted them bail.

Their bail was however challenged by the DSS.
