Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has visited the victim of the Tuesday violent protest in Abeokuta over the scarcity of naira notes.
The victim was said to have been hit by a stray bullet during the protest.
The video of the man running away after he was shot on Tuesday went viral.
The victim is said to be at the moment receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he was said to have been operated upon.
The governor was said to have sympathised with the victim and others over the unfortunate incident and also made a pledge to foot his medical bills.
“Once more, we’re appealling to our young ones to go about their daily activities without recourse to social unrest, as we keep doing our best over the lingering situation. We are hopeful that all of this will be a thing of the past as earlier promised,” the governor was quoted as having said.
