Cult clash: One beheaded, three others killed in Lagos

A cult clash in Lagos on Sunday left one person beheaded and three others killed.

The clash occurred in Ajah area of Lagos State.

Already, two persons, Saheed Lateef, 21, and Julius Augulere, 20, have been arrested in connection with the killings.

The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana, who spoke on the clash on Sunday said Ogombo Police Station was alerted of the clash at about 8:45 a.m.

The clash, he said, was between rival cult groups along Abraham Adesanya, Lekki-Epe Expressway.

Four members of Eiye cult were said to be killed by Aye members.

According to him, the two suspects arrested were of 13, Obodo Street, Oke Ira Nla, Langbasa, Ajah, Lagos, and members of Aye confraternity.

Elkana said the suspects had confessed to be involved, and one blood stained axe was recovered from them.

The police spokesman said the corpses of the victims had been deposited at a public mortuary while investigation was ongoing.

His words: “All the corpses have machete cuts with one of the corpses head severed but not taken away.

“Investigation is ongoing.

“The Command has launched a manhunt of the other fleeing cult members.”
