COVID-19: Yinfanny distributes relief materials to less-privileged in Ibadan

The founder of a non-governmental organisation, Yinfanny Foundation, ‘Yinka Faniyi, has distributed food and some relief materials to the people of Aja Nla Street, Oke Ado, Ibadan, to help cushion the effects of the partial lockdown in Oyo State occasioned by the global coronavirus pandemic.

Faniyi, a House of Assembly aspirant in the last general election to represent Ibadan South West State Constituency II, under the umbrella of the Peoples’ Trust (PT), said the donation through his foundation was aimed at giving back to the society.

She admonished the people to obey government directives on the prevention and control of the virus by staying at home at the scheduled time until otherwise directed.

While presenting the materials which include 10 bags of 50kg rice, face masks and hand sanitizers, Yinfanny boss informed the residents that the coronavirus pandemic was real and that staying at home would help to prevent its spread.

She added that she was moved to donate the relief items to ameliorate the difficulty the people were passing through at this trying period, lauding the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Oyo State Council under the leadership of Ademola Babalola, for its support on sensitisation since the outbreak of the pandemic in order not to spread further.

She stated that she was following the information disseminating by the union to curb the spread of the virus, assuring them of paying a visit to the council to appreciate the good works.

She specially lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for decisively leading the fight against COVID-19 in the state.

While also commending various institutions and individuals that have been supportive of the fight against the pandemic not to relent in their good work, Faniyi charged other public- spirited individuals and organisations to come to the aid of the people.

Yinfanny Foundation was welcomed by the Ibadan South West Chairman of the party, Alhaji Maroof Balogun, and other members of the executive.

He said they appreciated the kind gesture of Yinfanny Foundation, stating that it would go a long way in bringing relief to the people of the area.
